Since my last use XAMPP server for my web application development last year, I have not used it since then. It is running fine.. everything is good.. BUT.. when I call the admin panel page, it asks me for the username and password.. I have tried a couple of possible password, however, it does not work.. So, how can I reset the password is only possible solution for me!! hahaha
XAMPP is a fantastic utility for webdevelopers in various platforms (MAC, Windows, Linux). it is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. XAMPP is really very easy to install and to use – just download, extract and start.
Problem : Lost XAMPP admin panel password
Solution : There are a couple of possible password reset.
1. The easiest way delete the authentication configuration located in .htaccess file in /XAMPP/ folder. (or Delete it if you like) then you can access XAMPP..
2. Because I am using MAC, i have found that the security configuration application can be call by
#sudo /?location of your XAMPP?/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp security
XAMPP: Quick security check…
XAMPP: Your XAMPP pages are secured by a password.
XAMPP: Do you want to change the password anyway? [nein] (enter ‘Y’ if you want to change XAMPP admin panel password)
XAMPP: MySQL is not accessable via network. Good.
XAMPP: MySQL has a root passwort set. Fine! 🙂
XAMPP: ProFTPD has a new FTP password. Great!
XAMPP: Do you want to change the password anyway? [nein]
